Mr. Wooten grew up in Alamance County. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest College in 1965. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1968. Mr. Wooten served as Clerk of Superior Court of Alamance County from 1968 until 1972 when he joined the Vernon Law Firm. He has served as Chairman of the Family Law Section of the N.C. Bar Association and is a frequent lecturer at Family Law seminars. He is Past President of the Alamance County Bar Association. Mr. Wooten has served as a member of the N.C. Fire Commission, as a member of the N.C. Property Tax commission and as a member of the NC State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.
