Hewlett, Collins & Allard began in 1982 as Hewlett & Collins.  Mr. Addison Hewlett, Jr., asked Mr. John Collins to be his partner.  Mr. Collins had been an Assistant District Attorney for the Fifth Prosecutorial District from 1979-1982.
◾The partnership continued until Mr. Hewlett’s passing in 1987.  Legal Services of the Lower Cape Fear has named its highest award the Addison Hewlett, Jr. Pro Bono Award.
◾Mr. James “Buddy” Allard became a partner in the firm in December, 1989.  He and Mr. Collins have been partners for over 22 years.
◾Mr. Matt Collins joined the firm as an associate in September of 2010.
