Mike Reece is the firm’s primary trial lawyer.  He has 18 years of experience in criminal law and has appeared for the defense in dozens of jury trials over his career.  He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.  He is chairman of the Johnston County indigent defense oversight committee, is approved by the Capital Defender as counsel on first degree murder cases, and is a graduation of the Death Penalty Defense program of famed Wyoming attorney Gerry Spence.

Mary Reece is the firm’s appellate guru.  She combines 8 years of trial court work with a decade of appellate representation to ensure that her clients get the best possible representation in the appeals courts of North Carolina.  She has appeared as counsel of record in over 100 appeals to the North Caroilna appellate courts and has argued before both the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
